Totley Primary is an inclusive school with a strong, caring, pastoral structure which underpins an inspiring and ambitious curriculum. This seeks to develop the full potential of every child in all subjects. Our committed staff team care deeply for the children and are skilled in planning to meet their individual needs, both personally and academically. We believe that strong relationships and wellbeing are crucial to children's development and the children and staff of Totley Primary School are encouraged to build exceptionally positive relationships, resulting in everyone feeling cared for, valued and happy. Older children are encouraged to take on responsibilities around school and be excellent role models for our younger children in all respects.

We believe that learning is a journey and, as such, our curriculum is based on building children's subject knowledge in all areas and ensuring that this knowledge is retained and applied to authentic and ambitious outcomes. High academic achievement and personal development are valued at all stages, with the classroom focus being on challenge, engagement, inspiration and motivation for all. 

Learning is celebrated in all its forms and children are encouraged to take risks and be independent, resilient and confident, both inside and outside of the classroom.  Our aim is that all children leave Totley Primary believing in themselves, having the skills to support others and striving to reach their full potential both academically and as happy, well-rounded and balanced citizens of the world.
