Fabulous Festivities!

The end of the Autumn term has seen our children enjoy a wide range of enriching festive experiences.

In their RE lessons, children have learned about festivals of light such as Hannukah and Diwali, as well as focusing on the Christmas story. Our Y1, Y3 and Y5 classes had a superb time at 'The Christmas Experience' put on at Totley All Saint's church, as they travelled back in time to find out what life would have been like at the time of Jesus' birth.

With funding supported by our PTA, the whole school then travelled into Sheffield to absorb another thrilling Lyceum pantomime - Beauty and The Beast received rave reviews from children and staff alike!

Next came the performances... our Foundation Stage children delighted their special grown ups in their wonderful nativity, whilst our Y6 children lit up the stage on their production nights in front of packed school halls. Our KS1 and KS2 shows had to be moved indoors due to inclement weather but were all the more atmospheric for it and, again, the children rose to this change of plan brilliantly.

The final day of term brought our PTA gift swap - a lovely event in which all children were able to choose a gift to be wrapped up for a loved one. All in all, it's been a very special build up to the festive break and one in which the school community should be proud of the way in which they have come together.
