Today, Wednesday 9th March, 5 Year 4 gymnasts heading to the South Yorkshire School Games, to compete in the Year 3/4 Advanced competition.
We set off early from school and were excited to arrive at the EIS, Sheffield, for our opening ceremony. After watching a professional freestyle football player, it was time to warm up and compete.
The gymnasts (Sam, Evie, Emily, Zoe and Millie) performed brilliantly and supported each other throughout. They were the definition of the ‘Totley Golden Rules’.
After we had finished competing we had time to watch the other events happening in the area and support some of the old Totley girls competing in the King Ecgbert’s team.
Finally, after what felt like years, we were called for the results…7th place, 6th place, 5th place, 4th place, bronze, but still we hadn’t been called…we were getting so excited…then 2nd and we still hadn’t been called!!!
We were crowned the BEST Year 3/4 Advanced team in South Yorkshire!
What an achievement!!
We had such a brilliant day and afterwards had to head straight to our swimming lesson as we had to learn about Life Saving!
A very busy day, but well worth it!
Thank you Mrs Booth for all your help this year and driving us to and from the competition, we couldn’t have done it without you!
