Our Wednesday afternoons have recently become dedicated to Computing and Computational Thinking. This week, you have created an algorithm (a hand jive). Then, you broke the sequence of actions down into parts, and in doing so, you were decomposing. Decomposition is process of breaking down a task into smaller, more manageable parts, making the task (in this case, learning a hand jive) easier and less daunting. Decomposition is a fundamental skill when working with computers as it helps us break down complicated problems, focus on one part at a time and share the work with others.
