In not so wonderful weather, Year 4 set off to Weston Park to launch our new weather topic!

Alison, our expert for the day, taught us how to record the weather each day. We’ll be tracking the cloud cover and type, precipitation, wind speed and direction and temperature every day of our topic.

The day threw up some interesting questions, like ‘what is the eye of a storm?’ and ‘how do you survive a natural disaster?’. We’ll begin to answer these questions on Monday.

Look out for our updates throughout the topic.

Alice was dressed for extremely hot temperatures.

Scarlett was kitted out for surviving the snow!

We made octographsifor measuring cloud cover.

Alison explained how the weather station was 136 years old and the weather has been measured there every day.

We measured the recent rainfall like real meteorologists.
