We’ve had a wonderful week leading up to the Easter break this year. It all kicked off with a fantastic Egg Hunt on Sunday, organised by our PTA. Conditions were slightly damp underfoot but it was a marked improvement from the 6 inches of snow we had to battle with last year and around 200 hunters turned up to try their luck at discovering the whereabouts of the legendary golden lollipop sticks! There were also some delightful entries in the Easter bonnet competition. A huge thank you to the PTA for organising another brilliant event and to all those who came to help and support. Your efforts helped to raise almost £600!!

On Tuesday afternoon, we were warmly welcomed to All Saints church for our annual Easter service by Paul, the vicar. This year, the infants and juniors performed separately, which meant that conditions inside the church were rather less cramped and the audience had a much better view! Well done to all the classes, who put on a super show and sang with great gusto as they explored the wonder of Easter time.

The entrance foyer has been greatly enhanced as the week has unfolded by a magnificent display of decorated eggs in our customary competition. Some inspired designs were on show and many hours of hard work have obviously gone into producing eggs of such quality. It was very difficult for the staff judges to choose their favourites but a huge well done must go to our winners for their efforts!

On the last day of term, the celebrations concluded in exciting fashion with that time-honoured Totley tradition: the egg rolling competition! Following class heats earlier in the week, the best of the best brought their eggs to a nail biting finale. Well done to our KS1 and KS2 winners  for riding your luck and rolling rather remarkably!  A big thank you too to Katie at Tesco Express who kindly donated all the prizes!

Phew! That’s about it for this term. Have a great break and we’ll see you in a fortnight. Please click on the gallery below to see some photos of our Easter eggstravaganza!
