Here is Rosie’s final race report of the Cross Country season. A massive thank you to her for all of the entertaining articles for the website and to her mum, Rachel, for helping us to establish a cross country team at Totley Primary this season. They have been absolute stars and we are very grateful for all their efforts!

Graves Park was the venue for the Sheffield Primary schools cross country championships on Saturday 27 February. It followed a series of seven fantastic races that took place all across the city from Bradfield to Brunswick. This was the last race in the season and once again Totley’s runners were out in force to take on the challenging and technical course. Conditions were good with no wind or rain (for a change!). The course was slightly longer than in previous races, with just one lap, which started and finished in front of Graves Park pavilion.

Very well done to Daniel Bates in Y4 who was a first time runner for Team Totley at the weekend. Here are the rest of the results:

Boys Y4 race:

Luke Craine  – 38

Daniel Bates – 46

Girls Y5/6 race:

Sophie Taylor – 63

Boys Y5/6 race:

Douggie Nuttall – 4

Olly Wynne – 127

Thank you to all the children who have taken part in these races and to the parents for standing in the cold, cheering them on! Good luck to Sophie, Douggie, Freddie and Greg as they leave Totley Primary and hopefully continue running, this time in the secondary schools cross country series.

We hope to welcome back the rest of the team in September as well as encourage some new recruits too!
