Mullets haircuts, leg warmers, shoulder pads and neon colours were all present and correct today as we went back in time to the 80s and dressed up to mark Children in Need Day. This year also had a classic rock twist, to tie in with this evening’s legendary PTA Rock Night. After a week of selling “Totley Primary Rocks” wrist bands and through doing 80s rock-themed (and Pudsey-based) lessons, we really got into the spirit of the day.

The highlight of the day (apart from Mr Flevill’s Freddie Mercury-inspired outfit!) was undoubtedly the afternoon’s rock concert as the brilliant PTA band, Totley Crue gave the children a flavour of their set list for the evening concert. The children clapped, cheered and danced along to the tunes in true 80s style – there was even a little gentle headbanging!

All in all, the day was a great success and over £300 has been raised for the Children In Need charity. Well done to all who supported and good luck to the band for tonight. May the gods of rock be looking down favourably upon you all!
