Totley Primary’s annual Summer Concert was a bit hit as performers of all ages took to the stage and played and sang their hearts out! Once again, we were lucky that the weather remained warm and dry and enabled us to hold the concert outdoors. Family members and friends turned out in force to support the performing children and set up camp on the school field with a variety of rugs and refreshments, which created a real festival atmosphere.
One of the main purposes of the event is to give those children who have music lessons the chance to show off their skills and perform to an audience. They were brilliant on the night and showed great courage to get up and play confidently in front of everybody. A whole range of instruments were represented, including piano, guitar, vocals, bass, violin and even a saxophone! In amongst the soloists , our infant and junior choirs delivered strong performances of songs such as “You Are my Sunshine” and “Hall of Fame”. We also had a special appearance from our junior gymnasts, who dazzled the crowd with their routines. All in all it was an evening to remember – well done to all our performers and a special thank you to James, Sam and Jane – our super peripatetic music teachers.
