A huge well done to our Y5 boys football team, who have achieved the rare feat of going through their season unbeaten. Following convincing wins against Totley All Saints and Ann’s Grove, the boys came up against a tougher test in their final match against Norton – themselves also unbeaten.

Right from the off, the pace of the game was fast and furious and it was clear that the teams were well matched. Norton edged the first half and had a few chances in front of our goal, one of which they took to earn them a deserved 1-0 lead at half time.  In the second half, our boys came out fighting and gradually the balance of play began to swing towards Totley. With only 5 minutes to go, Isaac showed great skill in turning a defender and creating space which allowed him to set up Noah who was flying forward in support down the left flank. Noah made no mistake with a beautifully taken first time shot which beat the keeper low to his left.

1-1 was the final result. Well done to both teams for putting on a thrilling match which was played in the right spirit and demonstrated a high level of skill all round.
