Not only have year 5 competed in the School’s Sports day today, but they have also have two other tournaments this week!
On Wednesday, we had the opportunity to use all of the Cricket skills which we have learnt during our PE lessons in a tournament with other schools. We had 3 teams: Boys, Girls, and Mixed. All teams played extremely well. We had a few wins, and a few losses. We had some excellent wickets, a fantastic catch by Greg, and some belting hits by Sofia and Ruby C! The girls did fantastically well and go through to the final!
After a good nights sleep and a morning in school, we went to our second competition which was run by Westbourne school. We had a mix of Rounders and Cricket. What impressed me the most was the improvement of the children’s play from the beginning to the end of the afternoon. The children went home having learnt new rules, skills and techniques which they will be able to transfer to other sports. Highlights include: many rounders scored!, an excellent wicket by Will, more belting hits by Max, and great team play between the children.
Well done year 5!!
