To finish off Year 4’s Slavery topic, they held a Slavery Day on Monday 18th April. Everyone came in dressed as either an influential person that they had researched or someone related to a plantation.
The morning started off with posters being created for their slave auction in the afternoon, they even got to tea stain paper to make it look old.
Then they used their slavery props they had created in the previous week to take photos, thinking about the impact and the height of the camera when it was taken. They were then edited online to create a hard hitting piece of digital art.
Finally, in the afternoon, Year 4 recreated the journey of a slave from capture to plantation and created an animoto to show it (see below!).
Everyone had a great day, and no one had to have any lashes (Phew!).
