What an exciting time of year it is, with Spring having truly sprung and lots to look forward to as summer approaches. With (hopefully!) better weather on our side, our classes will be taking more of their learning outdoors as our teachers seek to make the most of the fantastic school grounds we are blessed with here at Totley. The KS1 children have certainly enjoyed being able to go onto the grass at lunchtime, while the KS2 children have loved using the new adventure playground on the back yard, provided by our PTA.
Our topic hooks and outcomes have already provided several highlights this term. These have included an FS2 trip to Whirlow farm, an allotment visit in Y1, a Dinosaur Museum and Ugly Bug Ball in Y2, a trip to Cadbury’s World for our Y4s, a Halle Orchestra concert for Y5 and a WW2 VE day party for our Y6s! Phew! All these brilliant learning opportunities in less than 3 weeks and just the kind of memories we aim to create throughout the children’s time at school.
Over the next few weeks, we will all be living up to our “work hard and play hard” motto as children in Y2 and Y6 continue to prepare for their SATS and we look forward to exciting events such as the Y4 Kingswood residential and Sports Day.
Thanks you for your continued support!
