I cannot believe that it is nearly half term already! This term seems to be flying by! So much has happened over the past 6 weeks that summer holidays seem just a distant memory! The new FS2 children and their families seem to have found their feet and it is wonderful to see how much they have developed in the short time too. No longer do we sit in the dining room for the majority of the lunchtimes – they are choosing, eating, gobbling up their puddings and keen and eager to be out on the yard! Their buddies have really helped with the settling in period and I would like to express my huge thanks to all our Y6’s who have been such fantastic friends to the little ones. They have shown real kindness, care and compassion towards them and the FS2 children are thriving because of this. There are some definite bonds that will be broken come July!!

All our other classes have found their feet as well and it has been good to see all the children focussed on their learning. We have already had trips and hooks, such as Y5 trip to Magna and the Y3 puppet experience, and are looking forward to some more events before half term, such as Y1 dress up day to think about the jobs their parents do and a Y2 parents museum! Thank you to all parents who have been into Y1 to talk about their jobs and to those who are coming in to find out about the learning that is taking place in the classroom. It certainly means a lot to us all to be supported.

Although I am sure we are all ready for a rest, we still have a few whole school events to go before the end of the half term. We are looking forward to our Harvest services, Wear it Pink day and of course, the end of term Halloween Disco to round everything off! Is there a better way to kick start the half term than with Mr P’s tunes???! I look forward to seeing you there!
