Year 5 journey back the Victorian Era

As part of our new topic this half term, ‘Light and Dark’, we asked the question… ‘Why is it getting dark earlier?’ We talked about how the clocks were turned back a few weeks ago and this meant that it starts to get darker earlier in the evenings, something which many of us had noticed!  Continue Reading »

Y6 Remembrance Poetry

To mark Remembrance day, the Y6 children analysed the poem, ‘Flanders Fields’. The children looked at the audience and purpose of the poem, and how language was used effectively. The children then wrote some beautiful Remembrance poems using some of the ideas they had picked up. Here is some of their work:
